Welcome to Newman Pistol Club

The Newman Pistol Club (Inc.) has been part of the Newman community since 1971 and we are associated with the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (SSAA) WA.

The club caters to a number of shooting disciplines that are approved by the SSAA WA.

Newman Pistol Club offer a friendly and safe environment where everyone from the complete novice who has never fired a firearm before, to the competitive shooter, can come to learn the safe handling of a firearms and practice a Sport of Shooting.

The facilities include 3 ranges. A 25m target, 50m target and the third range that is used for International Practical shooting Confederation (IPSC) training and events. A fully enclosed Air Pistol range with a mechanical target system is to be renovated in our club house.

Safety is our number one priority and during all organised events, at least one Range Officer (RO) is on the firing line at all times. The RO’s commands must be abided by at all times.

A weekly event is held every Sunday, starting at 8am. This is a friendly match and is open to the Newman Pistol Club members, members from other clubs and visitors. Members from other clubs can get their attendance card stamped as part of their required number of shoots.

Visitors do not require any previous experience to participate, as one of our members will give a full firearm handling safety briefing including helpful instructions on how to hold, aim and fire the firearm. They will also be standing by your side the entire time you are at the firing line.

We ask visitors if you are coming down to join in, that you arrive 30mins prior to start, so we can run you through the required adminstration and safety rules. Please ensure you have enclosed shoes, sleeved shirt (no singlets), Eye protection and Ear protection. There may be ear and eye protection available at the club, but this is not always guaranteed.

As an associate with the SSAA WA, the Newman Pistol Club can offer members Club Support for privately owned firearms.

The Newman Pistol Club can also cater for group / corporate events.
